Mumbai, Andheri: 28, Dec, 08

Okay guys, here I go, after lot of coaxing by my dear friend GAUTAM BURAGOHAIN, who in turn put me to this wonderful guy SHIV, I have finally decided to travel to the digital world by posting my first blog. I have been reading Mr Amitabh Bachchan’s blog as and when, time permits and I’m amazed by the way he writes and I’m told he is regular with his postings. And so, as I write, excuse me for any lapses, as I’m not familiar with this new medium. Now, leme tell you guys that the last few of weeks… or is it been months have been rather hectic.

I’m literally living out of my suitcase, traveling from one corner of the world to another. But, at the same time, I’m glad, traveling means more work and I’m just addicted to only two things in my life. My family and my work, rest everything comes secondary. So over the weekend, landed from South Africa, shot for a day in Mumbai, then for 4 days, I was shooting in the famous Ramoji Rao studio Hyderabad, before heading back to Mumbai. Back in the city, I was shot whole night for another of my film. And now I’m heading to a recording studio to dub for a film. And as I was about to enter the studio, got a call from my friend Akshay Kumar. He shouted on the phone ‘My friend you have given a good fight with your voice.’ says Gulshan. Hmmm, I was wondering what he was talking about? Then, I realized, it’s about Jumbo, the animation film he was talking about. I become nostalgic, since I have known Akshay for many years now. Both of us have been part of the successful ‘Khiladi series’.

Anyways, I’m trying to warp up all my schedules as I plan to see my son in the US and spend the New Year with him, here’s wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year … Pew!

    Namaste! :)
We hear about so many actors, but never much about you. I have always wanted to know about you, the person behind the actor. I have always wondered how you have done outrageous villain roles (the ‘Bad Man’ kinds) along with real characters (I think my favourite is the character you played in ‘Teen Deewarein’). I have wondered, if it were the same person doing both roles :).
Welcome to the blog world and hopefully, this will give us a little more insight into Gulshan Grover the person.

    Ram Ram!

I am glad to see that finally other bollywood “Chiknahs” are tapping into this medium. Its great from the perspective of a fan to read the words of a star - I am touched (I am not applying any muskaa - but I recall that Mr. Grover loves turkah daal). As for Mr. Bayvaghoof Bachchan (”BB”) - I do not think that he writes well and I am sure that he has a little “ungreezi speaking chootu” to edit and polish his written words - As a lawyer I pay attention to my documents and check them carefully…however there is always room for error…after all we know that BB hates controversy and mud slinging a movie made by Danny Boyle (a personal friend) is not sportsman like. My advice is simple if you want to make a moive that is real then stop doing those aweful skin tours with the whole BB clan and make a quality moive - Danny shows that you do not need Ms. Rai-BB to make a movie a success. Anyways I disgress, Mr. Grover…top job keep it up and post something as and when you have time…please dont do the BB thing and get sucked into useless mind rot…be real. Ram Ram

    nice blog sir…
When are you coming back to india

i am waiting for your next post…..

  9. Sridhar says:

    Chhappan Tikli/Bad Man/Kesariya Vilayti etc.

Namaste Sir, You are probably one of the most underrated actors in Indian film industry. Kesariya Vilayti ‘defines’ you as he was not the main villain in the film. He was just a sidekick to the baddie, but your performance took the character to a different level. You peaked in the late eighties but later resorted to stereotype villain type roles in the late 90s. I wish directors pay heed to talents like you and Danny and give you some performance-oriented roles regularly. I believe, your Hollywood connections intimidated your colleagues and hence you were neglected quite a lot.
I pray you get all the success and creative satisfaction you deserve. Please do movies like Teen Deewarein.

    Karr bhala..tho ho bhala…..(Raja Babu film’s dialogue)
